- 1). Wash your hands with soap and warm water before applying the Protopic ointment.
- 2). Spread a small amount of ointment on the dry rash with your finger. The layer of ointment needs to be very thin. Only apply medication to the eczema and not to healthy skin.
- 3). Wash your hands to remove excess ointment after application. Do not wash areas of the body with the eczema rash because it will wash off the medication.
- 4). Apply lotion to the eczema rash to help moisturize skin.
- 5). Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning beds while using Protopic. Avoid the use of sunscreen.
- 6). Stop the use of Protopic once the rash has cleared.
- 7). Store Protopic at room temperature.
