How to Get Soap Streaks off of Jackets

    • 1). Rub the soap streaks with a bar of soap. Rewash the jacket in the washing machine. Check the garment to see if the soap streaks have gone away. If the soap streaks are still visible, proceed to Step 2.

    • 2). Soak the jacket with soap streaks in undiluted white vinegar. The soap streaks should disappear in approximately 15 minutes of soaking. If the soap streaks are still visible after 15 minutes, continue soaking the garment for an additional 15 minutes, or 30 minutes total.

    • 3). Remove the garment from the undiluted vinegar and rewash. Rewashing the garment will remove all vinegar odors.

    • 4). Check the garment after rewashing to see if the soap streaks have disappeared. If they have not, you can try rubbing the soap streaks with a few drops of a grease-cutting liquid dish detergent. Rewash the jacket.
