- 1). Wash the scalp thoroughly before treatment.
- 2). Treat the scalp with zinc oxide ointment. Squeeze out a small drop of zinc oxide onto your finger. Rub the ointment into the itching parts of your scalp.
- 3). Treat the scalp with a powder containing zinc oxide, such as Gold Bond Medicated Body Powder. Shake some powder onto your hand and rub it into the scalp. Repeat the application up to 4 times per day.
- 4). Continue the application, until the itching goes away. If it does not go away after several days, consult a dermatologist.
