How to Catch a Housefly
- 1). Empty the contents of a plastic water or soda bottle. Rinse the bottle out with tap water. Throw away the bottle's cap.
- 2). Remove the top one-third part of the clean bottle with scissors or a box cutter.
- 3). Fill the bottom portion of the bottle roughly halfway with apple cider vinegar, roughly one-fourth of a teaspoon of sugar and roughly one-fourth of a teaspoon of unscented liquid dish soap. Use a spoon to stir the three ingredients together.
- 4). Flip the top part of the bottle upside down. Insert that part into the bottom portion of the bottle.
- 5). Place the trap wherever houseflies are found. The flies enter the trap and are unable to escape the solution.
