1.
Eat Fatty Fish
Eating fatty fish such as salmon between two and four times per week can help to improve brain function and also reduce the risk of heart disease.
2.
Drink Like A Fish
Do fish actually drink? I don't know, but what I do know is that most people don't drink nearly enough water.
Make a conscious effort to drink more water especially if you drink a lot of caffeinated beverages such as coffee and energy drinks.
3.
Beans Means Fiber
As well as having a very low glycemic impact, beans have a whole lot of fiber as well.
Get through a can of beans and you will be getting a great dose of fiber and a whole host of other nutrients.
4.
Eat In Season
Fruits and berries have a heap of vitamins, fiber and antioxidants.
By eating in season you are going to get some good prices but if you shop for local produce you will also be reducing the food's carbon footprint.
5.
Avoid Fried Take Aways
Fried foods can taste pretty good at times.
However when foods are fried in cheap oils that are kept at high heat for a long time the quality of the fats in the oil will be very low.
If you want to fry food, do it at home with high quality oils such as peanut oil or coconut oil.
6.
Get A Herb Garden
Fresh is best and when it comes to making food tasty and interesting you can't go past fresh herbs.
Buying herbs from the supermarket almost guarantees that you will have lots left over because for some reason they sell them in large serves.
7.
Drink More Green Tea
Adding two or three cups of green tea to your day has been shown to have a number of health benefits.
An added bonus will be if you can substitute some of the coffee you drink for green tea.
