Why Choose Flotex Flooring?
It can make it tricky to find the perfect option which fulfils your criteria and looks great as well.
Flotex flooring is much more versatile than it might first appear.
It's a textile flooring which uses a great combination of the benefits of both.
Durable and comfortable When you're looking for a new flooring, you want something which will last.
It's more than a bit of a faff to move all your furniture around so you can lay a new floor, and even worse if you need to relay the under flooring as well.
Flotex flooring is much more durable than carpet, because the fibres are incredibly densely packed in.
There are more than 70 million nylon fibres per square metre.
This means that the pile doesn't crush, wear or stain in the same way that carpet can.
The fibres top a cushioned backing for extra comfort and noise reduction.
It means it's warm and comfortable underfoot as well as practical.
Usually hardwearing floors are hard by their nature, and therefore don't do a very good job of absorbing sound.
This particular option has the ability to reduce sound by 20 decibels.
It means that Flotex flooring is a highly popular option both in the home and in the office.
Hygienic option Keeping floors clean can be a huge challenge in itself.
Vinyl flooring tends to be the obvious choice, because it's much easier to clean than traditional textiles.
Flotex, however, is not a traditional textiles.
This clever little hybrid has plenty of tricks up its sleeve to make sure it's just as easy to clean as vinyl, but with the added benefits of being textile.
This is all made possible by the layered construction.
We've already mentioned the pile and the cushioned backing, but between this there is an adhesive layer which contains an anti-microbial treatment called Sanitized.
This treatment spreads between the pile and the backing, meaning that there is constant protection from bacteria as well as mould and odour.
Not bad! Because Flotex flooring has a waterproof backing, it is the only textile floor covering which is fully washable.
The short straight fibres hold dirt (so you don't walk spills around the house), but also allow for easy cleaning when the time comes.
It also means that for allergy sufferers, it's a much better option than carpet because dust isn't trapped in the same way and cleaning can be much more thorough.
Keeping clean As with anything, it's important to know just how to clean Flotex flooring in order to keep it looking its best.
On a regular basis, this will simply be vacuuming with the brush adjustment set low.
Periodically you'll find that a wet clean will help revitalise your floor.
This can be carried out with a machine such as Vax or hot-water extraction machine.
The detergent supplied is suitable, however it should only be used in a very week solution.
Mopping or wiping is not recommended as this only cleans the tips of the pile.
