The holidays have been upon us for a little while now, but we still have a few more weeks to go and hopefully, it has been going really well.
For some of us, it is an occasion to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
While for some, it is about family, friends, and a time for sharing and receiving.
While for others, although we would like it to be otherwise, it is a period of sadness for them.
Nevertheless, whatever this time of the year may mean for us, some of us may be traveling to spend this time with family and friends, while some, will be staying at home.
Therefore, for those of us who will be making a trip to be with loved ones, the following suggestions may be helpful.
Don't Wrap Gifts If we will be going by plane and we are taking gifts with us, it is best not to wrap them until we arrive at our location.
This is suggested because it is highly possible that the security at the airport would be asking us to open the packages, so that they would be able to see clearly what is on the inside.
Therefore, unless we do not mind, it would save us a lot of time and effort by simply leaving the wrapping for the other side of the journey.
Therefore, let's not forget to put the gift wrapping papers etc.
, close at hand, so as to get it done as soon as possible.
A Week In Advance Again, if traveling by air, if it is possible, it is best to get onto the airplane at least a week in advance, so as to cater for any natural or unplanned events.
With the recent events of airports being closed as a result of the snow across Europe, is a good reminder of this.
We might have thought that airports were able to handle snow, because, after all, this is nothing new to it, but, this is a reminder of the fact that we never could tell what may happen when the snowflakes and water, falls from the sky.
Ship Items If we will be purchasing items for family and friends, we could consider shipping them to our destinations instead of taking them with us.
This would not only decrease the size of our luggage, but it would save us a little bit of time when we pass through customs.
