The Ultimate Packing List for Disney
- Bring the proper number of shirts, t-shirts, pants, shorts, underwear and socks, according to how many days you will be on vacation. Pack a few dressy outfits if you plan on going to a nice restaurant. Don't forget jackets and sweatshirts in the event of cool mornings and evenings. Foldable rain ponchos are lightweight and practical in the event of a rainy day. Pack hats to keep the sun off your face. You will likely be doing a lot of walking at Disney, so take walking shoes that are lightweight and comfortable. Don't forget bathing suits and comfortable sandals that dry easily if you plan on swimming or going on water rides.
- Your day pack can be a backpack or fanny pack to hold essentials once you are inside the park. A well-equipped day pack includes sunglasses, sunscreen with SPF 30, lip balm with SPF, wipes, hand sanitizer, guide books and maps of the park. Also include important phone numbers, such as the number to your resort or hotel, which can also be stored in your cell phone. Take an autograph book and fat pens (which are easy for characters to grip and sign) if your kids want to collect autographs. Include a camera, water bottle and a mini-fan to cool you off as you wait in line for rides.
- Bring aloe or after-sun lotion, band-aids and bug spray. Also include medications such as antacids and pain relievers, as well as those for allergies, motion sickness, cramps, indigestion and any prescribed medication you are taking. Be sure to take kid-friendly medications if you are traveling with children.
Pack toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, makeup, shaving supplies, contact solution, eyeglasses cases, cotton swabs, a blow dryer and hair ties. - If you are traveling with children, pack toys, books, magazines, hand-held video games and other items to keep them occupied during travel or down time. Babies and toddlers will need strollers, bottles, cups with lids, diaper bags, baby monitors and window shades for the car. Child identification tags are also helpful in the event that a child gets lost. Don't forget pool items such as goggles, swimmer's wings and beach towels.
- Other important items include insurance and emergency contact information, credit cards, identification cards and traveler's checks. If you are bringing home souvenirs, an extra suitcase may be helpful. Don't forget extra batteries for electronic devices, extra film and memory cards for cameras, and cell phones and their chargers.
