Eating healthy has a lot of benefits on our overall health so it makes sense that foods that we eat have an effect on our ability to study by helping us to concentrate for longer periods and to retain all that we have learnt.
So let's have a look at some foods that should be part of our diet: Fruits and vegetables: You have probably heard how important fruits and vegetables are for your body, well they are important for your memory too so try to add them in your diet.
Good examples of fruits are apples, tomatoes, melons, oranges, grapes, cherries, and pineapples and excellent vegetables to add to your diet are spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms and sprouts.
Nuts: Nuts like almonds, cashews, walnuts and pistachios contain lots of nutrients which keep our body in top condition.
They contain omega fatty acids and antioxidants which help to improve the memory of our brain and keep us alert.
Chocolates: They do not only serve as a delicious treat but also aid in keeping us focused and increase the supply of blood to our brain which improves our thinking skills.
Also chocolate contains caffeine that is known to keep us alert.
Fish: These treasures from the ocean contain the best source of omega 3 fatty acids that are indispensable for good health and good brain function.
Examples of fish you might look at for are: salmon, sardines, tuna and mackerel.
Water: The importance of water for our bodies cannot be stressed enough.
This liquid cleanses our system and keeps us in good condition.
Keep a bottle of water next to you when studying so you get enough to drink to keep you hydrated.
Add these to your diet and you will definitely feel the difference in your mood and the level of alertness whilst studying.
