If you want to get rid of acne, then you should first know how it is formed. Acne occurs when your pores are blocked by sweat, oil, dirt and dead skin cells. With the pores blocked, bacteria thrive under your skin and pus is formed. The inflammation will cause redness, pain and a bit of swelling. Thus, getting rid of acne revolves around preventing the factors that block the pores on the skin.

Below are some of the helpful ways to get rid of acne on the back:

1. Keep your back dry and clean.

Are you very athletic? Do you sweat a lot? Practice taking showers once or twice a day right after your rigorous activity. This will help get rid of sweats and oils on your skin. Use mild body soap or an anti-acne soap to wash your back. However, don't overdo washing as it may cause your skin to dry up which makes it more prone to back acne. Also, avoid putting talcum powder at your back. This will make the acne worse by blocking your pores when mixed with sweat.

2. Wear loose clothes made from natural fabric.

For those who sweat a lot, it is also important that you should wear loose clothes made from natural material such as cotton. Make sure your back is well-covered to keep it from being exposed to dirt and pollution. Loose clothes made of cotton will also help dry up sweat easily. This way sweat will not linger long enough on the skin to clog the pores. Avoid wearing tight-fitted clothes when treating acne on the back to prevent friction and skin irritation.

3. Exfoliate properly.

Sometimes, washing with body soap is not enough. Exfoliation helps a lot to remove dirt and dead skin cells on the back. However, avoid too much scrubbing to prevent irritation. When in the shower, use a gentle scrub or loofa that is specially designed to reach the skin on the back. This will help exfoliate dead skin cells, as well as excess oils and dirt on the skin.

4. Use anti-acne products.

You can also use anti-acne creams and solutions to treat present acne on the back. There are several anti-acne products sold in the market. However, just make sure to ask your dermatologist to check whether those products are safe for your skin. Your dermatologist can also prescribe you appropriate anti-bacterial creams or ointment to treat your back acne.

If you want to see a long term absence of acne in your back, then you should meticulously practice all the tips above. There isn't a quick fix solution to back acne, most especially since it is situated in a larger area where there are more oil-producing glands than the face.
