Back pain in varying degrees affects most people in their lives.
From a simple muscle strain brought on by a weekend of yard work, to the more debilitating herniated disc or osteoporosis.
It is very common.
The pain can be classified into two categories.
Acute pain can be defined as a discomfort that is usually temporary in nature and is usually treated with over the counter pain relievers, rest or heating pads.
The acute variety can be avoided by not over working your back, or making sure you warm up your back properly before you begin work that will use your back muscles.
Prevention of acute pain begins and ends with listening to what you back is telling you.
Pain is natures way of telling you are doing something wrong in regards to your back.
It is imperative to always guard your back from activities you are engaged in.
For example, you need to be aware of the type of sofas and chair you are using at home and at work, the manner in which you lift objects and the position you sleep in at night.
The old saying of an ounce of prevention certainly applies to acute back pain Chronic pain can be defined as a dull, burning pain that occurs deep in the back and aches horribly.
It may be localized in one area or it may be a pain that migrates from the back and down the legs.
Persons who suffer from this type of affliction often find it very stressful to do many of their common daily activities.
Some cannot work at their jobs , even if they spend most of their sitting down.
Pain that lasts for more than a few months period is defined as chronic..
Finally the most important thing to remember is discomfort of any sort is treatable and delaying that treatment enhances the canes of further injury.
Many patients have developed home remedies for pain.
If your pain persists more than a few days seek, medical attention, before further damage occurs.
