Getting a tan, for most people, gives them a career boost as they feel confident in the way they look.  Confidence is the key to success and if getting a tan can give you the success you ever wanted, why is it that most people do not change their skin tone to tan?

Natural tanning are derived from direct exposure to the sun.  If you have a fair skin, it will take hours to spend underneath the sun to change your skin tone to a darker shade.  The sun can also have some effects in the skin.  It can dry your skin and can speed up the development of wrinkles.  Even if you put sun protection, your skin is still susceptible to damages from minor skin allergies to as major problem as skin cancer.  Perhaps we can say that the depletion of ozone layer had greatly affected the intensity of the sun and it can deeply penetrate in the skin.

If you want to visit tanning salons, lying on tanning beds is quite safer than lying under the sun, however, one must understand that the use of tanning beds can also cause skin cancer.  Although the emission of ultraviolet rays is being controlled in beds, salon attendants do not usually check how often their clients lie down on tanning beds.

Tan tablets works by depositing caretenoid in the fat layers of the skin.  These caretenoids are derived from carrots and are responsible in making it orange.  Food and Drug Administration however declared that the use of this ingredient is unsafe.  Those who have taken this pill claimed that the use of these kinds of pills are quite effective, although the long term effect of caretenoids in the body is not yet known.

Other tan tablets are known as tan enhancers.  Tan enhancers work to speed up the tanning process.  Most tan enhancer tablets do not have caretenoids, instead, they use tyrosine that creates reaction to amino acids and helps the skin boost the production of melanin.  When exposed to the sun or to the ultraviolet rays emitted in tanning beds, your skin will speed up the tanning process.  Be careful not to over expose your skin as it can easily be burned by the sun.

Although there is no clear path for tan tablets at this time, experts believe that tan tablets will soon have its success in the market and will soon become safe.
