Seal any cracks around your home with caulk, suggests the Illinois Department of Public Health Prevention & Control. Examine window screens around your home and replace any that have small holes or tears. Good screens on your windows not only keep recluse spiders out, but the prey they subsist on. - 4). Sprinkle diatomaceous earth onto crevices and cracks within your home, which will kill recluse spiders that come into contact with it. Also sprinkle diatomaceous earth along the baseboards of your home. Silica gel can also be sprinkled in your home to kill recluse spiders.
