• Imitrex is a common treatment for migraine pain. It can only be prescribed by your doctor. The medication narrows blood vessels as well as reduces substances in the body that can cause the side effects of a migraine: sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, scalp sensitivity and other related symptoms. Imitrex will only treat a migraine headache after onset, and it shouldn't be used to treat a common tension or stress headache. Imitrex is available in a nasal spray, tablet or injection.

• Topamax is a management medication that prevents migraine headaches. Topamax cannot be used to treat a migraine after onset. If a migraine headache occurs on the medication, it's important to treat the headache as prescribed by your doctor. Tylenol with Codeine

• Tylenol with Codeine helps relieve mild to moderate pain such as migraines. It contains the narcotic pain reliever codeine and the non-narcotic pain reliever Tylenol. This medication is used to treat migraine pain after onset. Codeine works within the brain to affect how the body reacts to pain. Tylenol with Codeine can cause drowsiness, dizziness or lightheadedness, and you shouldn't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how this medication affects you.
