Head On - Over the Counter Medication, Does It Really Work?
The makers of this product have produced the very popular television commercial that annoyingly repeats, "Head On- apply directly to the forehead.
" The commercial shows a woman holding the product and applying it to her forehead over and over.
Many people have said this commercial is very irritating! Dr.
Dara Jamieson, director of the New York Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center, has said that this medication is completely useless.
The ingredients that are effective in this medication are so little, that it is considered a placebo medication.
Most of what makes up this product is wax.
There is a large response to placebo medication for headache treatment, so it may benefit some.
Some users of this product claim there is a tingling sensation after they apply it as well.
I have also found that the Better Business Bureau has announced that "the company failed to provide any reliable clinical testing to support its claims.
" They have also said that there is no scientific basis for using this product.
The makers of Head On now do not claim that Head On actually works in their commercials.
They have also taken down their website due to the many complaints for their commercials and the ineffective product they have put on the shelves.
The scientific community has stated that there is no danger in taking this medication, but there is also no benefit.
Basically, you are buying a stick of wax and rubbing it on your head like a stick of deodorant for no reason at all.
I suggest that instead of wasting your money buying this product, you should make an appointment with your doctor to treat your headaches.
