Wax Stains on Fabric
- 1). Place the fabric in your freezer if the wax stain just occurred. This will freeze and harden the wax, making it easier to get off.
- 2). Scrape away the wax once it's hardened. Use something that will not harm the fabric, such as a piece of plastic silverware.
- 3). Add dry-cleaning solvent to a sponge and dab the wax stain on the fabric.
- 4). Sandwich the fabric where the wax stain is between paper towels and lay it over your ironing board.
- 5). Set your iron to a temperature safe for the fabric and let it heat up. Iron over the fabric and paper towels. The wax should transfer to the paper towels from the fabric.
- 6). Replace the paper towels and iron again. Continue until you've removed all the wax.
- 7). Add a pre-wash stain remover to the fabric where the wax was and wash in your washing machine with laundry detergent that's safe for the fabric.
