Does Wearing Vegan Mean Losing Style
So if you are concerned that your fashion persona will suffer if you go vegan I thought it might be fun to list some famous vegans and see whether or not there is a tendency to dagginess amoung vegans. It might also be interesting to understand whether a vegan chooses certain styles of clothing because of their personality or whether the cloths made according to vegan principles adopt a certain style because of the materials and manufacturing processes being used.
Vegans with high end fashion tastes:
Portia de Rossi, Lynda Stoner, Carrie-Anne Moss, Heather Mills, Katy Perry, Ellen DeGeneres, Russell Brand, Robin Gibb, Alec Baldwin, Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Carl Lewis, Chris Evert, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mike Tyson
Vegans with questionable fashion tastes :
Bill Ward, Avril Lavigne, Woody Harrelson, Daryl Hannah, Moby, Joaquin Phoenix, Weird Al Yankovic, Erykah Badu, Rob Bigwood, Sinead O'Connor
Vegans who probably don't worry too much about their clothes:
Leonardo da Vinci, Thom Yorke, Casey Affleck, Cesar Chavez, Brad Pitt, Dustin Hoffman, Diogenes, Gustave Flaubert, KD Lang, Daniel Johns
There are an increasing number of high profile vegan fashion designers with clothing and shoe designs that are every bit as fashion driven and glamorous as the best thatParis,London,NaplesandNew Yorkcan through at us. Stella McCartney is a good example. Other high profile names such as Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, while not strictly vegan throughout their ranges, are apparently not using animal fur any longer.
At the other end of the spectrum there are a multiplicity of vegan clothes and shoe brands that produce really good looking stuff without worrying too much about the fashion detail.
Based on the names above we would have to conclude that wearing vegan clothing or vegan shoes most definitely doesn't mean looking daggy. But even if it did, would it matter too much to the vegan conscious? I suspect not.
