Why You Should Wait on Having Children

One of the big questions that every married couple is asked is the ominous questions of kids.
How many will you have? When will you have them? These questions are always tough to answer, but here's my advice for why you should wait a few years before you commit to having children.
Of course, a minor disclaimer before continuing on, this tips are built inside of a bubble.
Every person has a different situation and so, I don't want anyone thinking this advice is the be all, end all of children having advice.
If you're getting to an age where it's no longer safe to have children or you have an aging parent who wants to see their grandchildren, these are all valid reasons to have children sooner.
However, in a perfect set of circumstances, these reasons are why you should wait on kids.
First, waiting on children allows you to build a financially stable environment for your child to grow up in.
During those married years without children, you are able to both work full-time jobs, allowing your household to have a much needed dual income.
This money can largely go into savings, creating a nice nest egg for you to build a stable environment for children to grow up in.
Kids themselves will eat up a lot of funds, with camps, medical expenses, clothing, and college.
As such, having a nice bank account that will grow on interest over the years can do wonders to combat these issues.
This built up income will work nicely when you have children.
Because of your built up security, a parent could take a longer time away from work to focus on raising the child and giving him or her the much needed attention that children desire.
In many families, it is financially difficult to have a parent take off, but then the family must suffer with the costs of daycare and the time away from their kids.
Taking this further, with all the money you'll be able to save while working without children, you can hopefully buy a home and establish a stable life before your child arises.
This stability can be great for a child, living in a constant home without the fear of moving to another area.
There's a lot to be said for the comfort of a home and it will help your child mature.
Finally, and for non-monetary reasons, waiting on children allows the married couple to enjoy their time alone.
When you're going to spend the rest of your life together, it's good to really have time to yourselves and to connect with one another.
A child can restrict this intimacy and acts as a third wheel that is forever present in your life.
Use the time before the child arrives to have fun with one another and really establish that you're in love.
Overall, there are a lot of great reasons to wait on having children.
You have your whole life to live and so, there is no reason to rush into any decisions.
Take your time, love your husband or wife, and prepare a secure home for your child to grow up in.
