Yemenia, and one of its Airbus A310 aircraft.
What happened?
The plane was attempting to land in poor weather, aborted its first attempt to land. The second attempt to land ended in a crash into the Indian Ocean.
What was the cause / Who is to blame?
Right now it seems early to establish cause and blame. Weather was said to be very poor, but safety and maintenance issues were mentioned with this particular airplane before. Enough so that several European civil aviation authorities were looking to Yemenia for an action plan regarding maintenance.
