Charlotte Root Canal - Choose The Right Charlotte Endodontist

Let's face it, no one looks forward the prospect of getting a root canal. The thought of having to sit in an uncomfortable chair while some doctor is drilling, pulling and doing all kinds of heavy duty work in your mouth isn't exactly anyone's idea of a good time.

However, the days of root canals being a guaranteed trip to Torture Town can be a thing of the past IF you select the right Endodontist to perform the actual root canal procedure.

As you begin your search for the right Charlotte NC area Endodontist, if you'll just keep a few key principles in mind, you really can have a root canal experience is relatively painless and stress-free.

First of all, here in Charlotte NC and the surrounding areas you have LOTS of choices so there's really no need to make a rush decision about who to receive your Endodontic care from. According to InfoUSA.com (one of largest companies out there that keeps track of information like the number of businesses in a particular area), there are roughly 26 different Endodontists within a 25 miles radius of the Charlotte NC area.

Now, whether or not that sounds like a lot what it does mean is that you have 26 different service providers that you need to compare in order to identify the one that can best help make what is undoubtedly a stressful experience, at least mildly pleasant.

Another important principle you'll want to keep in mind is that while every single one of the 26 possible Endodontists is highly qualified to provide the particular service you need, each one of them has a different way of communicating with patients before, during, and after the procedure.

For example, there are some Endodontic practices where the staff handles almost all of the pre-op and post-op check-ups. What this means for you is that instead of speaking directly with your doctor about your particular case, you'd most likely speak with one of their assistants the majority of the time.

Also, in addition to the interaction with your doctor during office visits, what will the communication with your Endodontist be like immediately following your procedure?

For example, if you find that you're experiencing a great deal of pain at 11:30pm the night following a root canal, would you be able to speak with your doctor directly or would you have to call an answering service or worse, wait until the next morning to finally speak with your doctor?

The last point to keep in mind is that because you do have options, you really have no reason to settle. Even though you may have received a referral from your general dentist to a particular Endodontist, that doesn't mean you're obligated to see that doctor. While in most cases Dentists make referrals to Endodontist they feel comfortable with and know will provide quality care, that doesn't mean your definition of 'feel comfortable' and 'quality care' match up.

Remember, it's up to you to find the Endodontist that YOU believe can provide an experience that is free of stress and somewhat enjoyable. And in spite of what many believe, it is absolutely possible to have an experience with an Endodontist that is enjoyable, but it really comes down to finding the RIGHT doctor for you.
