    • 1). Remove the crib mattress.

    • 2). Locate the drop side of the convertible crib.

    • 3). Unscrew the two rubber washers that are located on the legs near the bottom of the drop-side track of the crib.

    • 4). Remove the drop-side panel from the crib by sliding it below the drop-side track, much as you would if you were lowering the drop side when the unit is in crib mode. Since you have removed the washers, though, the drop side will fall to the floor when it goes off the track.

    • 5). Unscrew and remove the drop-side tracks from the crib’s legs.

    • 6). Attach the day-bed rail that comes with the crib. Your crib likely came with an Allen wrench to attach the bolts that are used for the railing. Use two joint-connecting bolts and two gate pins (which were both provided with your crib) to attach the day-bed rail; you will find the holes for these bolts near the bottom of the front legs.

    • 7). Tighten all screws in a clockwise motion.

    • 8). Place the mattress back on the bed.
