How to Clean an Old Shower
- 1). Fill a spray bottle with 3 cups water, 1 cup white vinegar and 1/2 cup dish soap. Shake the bottle to mix the ingredients.
- 2). Spray this mixture over the entire shower to fully saturate the surface.
- 3). Scrub down your shower with a wet nylon scouring pad. Spray on fresh solution as needed to keep the surface wet, which softens the buildup and makes it easier to remove.
- 4). Rinse the shower with water and examine.
- 5). Sprinkle a wet nylon scouring pad with baking soda and scrub over any leftover residue. The baking soda is abrasive and will provide some extra cleaning power for removing stuck-on residue.
- 6). Sprinkle baking soda over a wet toothbrush and scrub around corners and crevices of the shower, and also scrub over faucet handles and drain openings. Rinse down the shower after cleaning to remove all of the buildup.
