Why I like toothpaste!
There are many reasons to like toothpaste. For one it helps keep your teeth clean, which is obvious. We all know it keeps your teeth clean and cavity free. Although I have some doubts on that since I know people who brush at least 2-3 times a day and still have cavities.
But anyways, there are many other reason to like toothpaste. In fact I love the fact that it freshens your breath. When you walk up in the morning and your moth is feeling... well like you have dog breath, then you just whip out your tooth brush and take it for a spin and your all good!
Another neat trick is using toothpaste for non-conventional means. Such as patching up tiny holes on your walls from hanging pictures. I learned this trick in college when we had to restore our dorm room back to it's original shape, including all holes in the wall from hanging pictures. It works like a charm and usually matches the paint if the walls are white. Which is good as I couldn't sleep knowing I was likely to pay hundreds of dollars to have the walls repaired.
Yep toothpaste can be a neat tool for non-conventional means and a great breath freshener. But also lets not forget that some brand will even whiten your teeth, teeth whitening [http://www.cosmeticdentistryventura.com/teeth-whitening.php]. This is awesome, it's like a 3 in one package. You get clean teeth, fresh breath and white teeth. But beware some brands do work as advertized. In fact I've yet to find a good one that keeps your teeth real white looking.
Another note worthy comment is organic and SLS free toothpaste. I'm real big into these types of toothpaste. I've found I'll get sores in my moth if I use toothpaste that contains SLS. Which also reminds me, I believe it's better to have toothpaste that doesn't have florid in it. There are actually no studies that show florid is actually good for you or your teeth. In fact it can cause many health problems if ingested. Think about that next time you see and ad saying it contains florid.
Just in case you don't know what SLS is. SLS stands for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. It's a chemical that is commonly found in toothpaste. I'm guessing it's a preservative. But it can cause some issues for people. Specifically it can cause sores in the mouth. I have had some pretty bad ones from this when I've used toothpaste with SLS in it for any extended period of time. There is some controversy surrounding SLS. Some medical professionals disagree that it can cause sores. Well I do what works for me and I know that when I stopped using toothpaste that had that chemical in it my sores when away. You do the math! You'd think my sleep apnea [http://www.cosmeticdentistryventura.com/snoring.php] would have been enough to worry about.
