My Take On Things: Don"t Take America For Granted!

Working overseas in Iraq for the past few years I have learned a few things about life in the States.
We as a country really do take a lot of things for granted.
We are just so consumed by the world immediately around usor what we feel is important that we fail to see how good as a country we actually have it.
I know probably the only people that think about this are either contractors or prisoners.
You are probably asking yourself," What things is this guy talking about?" When you can drive down the road and in my case here in Iraq you don't have to worry about being blown up every time you see someone using a cell phone.
You can just hop into your car and hit the McDonalds, or Chili's (AKA Yummy!!).
You can usually do this 24Hrs a day.
We all have cable in our homes, a good amount of us have HD cable on our HD LCD television, but go crazy if the cable goes out in the middle of Wheel of Fortune (Why is that still on TV?).
The ability to walk into a wal-mart and have your car worked on, do your grocery shopping and pick out some hillbilly lingerie for your girl (if that's what you like).
Now, on to something a little more serious (In my mind).
While other countries have a crooked government that can let their citizens starve or just barely be able to survive, we have found ourselves upset at the government because we lost our job.
I am not arguing the fact that our country isn't in that great of shape, but I am arguing that we can get upset for the little things that are happening in the Capitol.
For the most part we have nobody to blame but ourselves if we don't like the way things are ran since we don't have a King or Queen.
We put these men and women in a position to make law, or govern the laws.
As a country we have to honor to elect someone else if we don't like how things are going, and it seems every time we do we are always saying "I guess the grass just isn't greener on the other side".
You always here either on TV or the radio how everyone thinks they are entitled to the freedom of speech, you deserve that right all in part of someone defending your right.
In history, time and time again there is a country that wants to take away your right to speak to who and about whatever you want.
But keep in mind that the people defending your right to speech are not allowed to speak out on the government.
The military gives up this right when the raise their right hand and swear to defend the constitution of the United States.
I will be the last one to say you should feel this way or that way about anything, but I would ask to look at the whole pictures before complaining about how you have it.
AND THAT'S MY TAKE ON IT!! If you agree or disagree let me know.
