The Picture Perfect Gift
It was the last week of the last month of the last year. Well forgive me I couldn't put it better, but yes, I clearly remember it was the last week and perhaps the first day of the last week and it was Christmas. I love Christmas it is a really beautiful time of the year, but I never quite had good memories of this day. I always used to have some sort of problems coming up around this same time. So I was cautious this time, and decided to do something I never did before. It all started when I saw a picture of my parents. Now here's a little info on my parents they live in our hometown and I came to a distant city for the pursuit of job and I am doing quite good. But today when I saw the picture, I felt that as if they were calling out to me.
I packed my bag, wore my favorite shirt which makes me look good, and boarded the immediate train that would take me to my hometown. I was traveling without reservation, something I never did. I have got to tell you though there is a risk in traveling like that and of course I wouldn't recommend any of you to do so, but there is fun too. I wanted to surprise my parents. I had fun along the way; I even narrowly escaped the ticket inspector, by being in the train loo for about half an hour, until I was sure, there was no hint of him. It was crazy.
Upon reaching, I came up with an idea. Soon after there was a knock on my parents' home, my sister opened the door and there was this small gift box on the ground. She called for mom and dad, they came out to see it, and only this time I was holding the gift box in my hands. They were supremely pleased to see me back. Perhaps, this is what was missing every Christmas, and the gift I presented them made them extremely happy. It was a sweet personalized photo frame with some of my editing skills from work. That was perhaps the Christmas when everything was good, and needless to say my New Year began on a happy note, now I can look forward to those amazing possibilities. All it takes is that heart, the willingness to gift; to even surprise someone with your presence and trust me it gives you the best feeling ever.
