If the Health Care Bill Passes, What Will Health Insurance Cost?

If you asked every one of the one hundred senators in Washington that question, I think you'd probably end up with one hundred different answers.
I don't think anybody really knows the impact on private health insurance rates.
We know not everyone will qualify for the "public" option, if there even is one in the final bill, and even if you do qualify, what will the restrictions and prerequisites be? How will the Healthcare Bill affect you if you already have private insurance? Will your rates go up because of some paragraph in the bill that will cause your insurance company to increase their premiums? Look at what is happening in California.
Residents there who have private health insurance recently got letters telling them to expect a 39% increase in their premiums, from their insurance providers.
Thirty nine percent is huge really; it's the difference between say $1,100 per month for family coverage and over $1,500.
00 per month.
I mean that's almost more than rent in a lot of communities in the US.
Don't think you're completely in the clear if your employer pays your health insurance either.
What if your employer's costs increase? What do you think might happen? Might they pass some of that increased cost onto to you, by making you pay part of your health insurance premium? Might they change their insurance plan to one that offers less coverage? Again, I don't think the average person can figure that out at this point.
I don't even think the lawmakers in Washington DC can at this point either.
So what to do? You need to be prepared for anything.
Remember knowledge is power, so checking out what your alternatives might cost you now may be a good way to at least prepare for the future.
Get in touch with some national health insurance providers and get a free quote from them.
In fact get a few quotes from a number of companies taking into account how a larger deductible and other factors, might impact your monthly payments.
With all the other economic stresses on American families today, any little bit of savings could be a huge help.
It really is the responsible thing to do for yourself and your family.
