- 1). Purchase a bottle of Black Flag Flying Insect Killer.
- 2). Hold the can with the nozzle pointing away from you. Break the small tab off that covers the nozzle. The sprayer will not function until you remove the tab.
- 3). Point the nozzle at any fruit flies that you see, whether on a surface, or flying in the air.
- 4). Press the button down on the top of the spray bottle. Release the button once you have hit the fruit fly with spray. You do not need to douse the fly, the insecticide kills on contact.
- 5). Cover the room with spray for large numbers of fruit flies. Stand on the outer edge of the room, and spray the insecticide towards the center of the room. Spray an average-size room between five and 10 seconds. The fog created by the spray will envelope and kill all of the flies in the room.
