    • The Chevrolet Aveo was built to compete with such vehicles as the Toyota Echo, the Scion xA, the Hyundai Accent and the Kia Rio. This vehicle is based on a Korean car, the Daewoo Kalo, and has fairly basic interior and exterior features, making it an affordable vehicle. In 2005, the Aveo was available in two trim options: a five-door hatchback or a four-door sedan.

    • All Aveos in 2005, regardless of trim, were built with the same engine. This is a 1.6-liter, inline four-cylinder engine with a bore of 3.1 inches, a stroke of 3.2 inches and a compression ratio of 9.5:1. This powerplant produces 103 horsepower and 107 ft.-lbs. of torque.

    Brakes and Suspension

    • All of the Aveo trims utilize four disc brakes. The front suspension consists of independent struts with a stabilizer bar and coil springs and a semi-independent torsion beam rear suspension with coil springs.

    Dimensions and Fuel Economy

    • All Aveo trims have a wheelbase length of 97.6 inches. Aveos with a hatchback are 152.7 inches in length, 65.7 inches in width and 58.8 inches in height, with a curb weight of 2,343.5 pounds. Aveos offered in the sedan trim are 166.7 inches in length, 65.7 inches in width and 58.8 inches in height, with a curb weight of between 2,365.6 and 2,376.6 pounds.

      These vehicles boasted an EPA estimated fuel economy of 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
