Inform neighbors and friends that the property is for sale. Locals often know of potential buyers that have expressed interest in purchasing property in the area. Contact these individuals to acquaint them with the property. Tell your neighbors that the land is for sale. An adjoining neighbor may wish to increase their holding or acquire the land for their kinfolk. - 3). Place a "For Sale" sign on the property. Locate the sign where it can be seen readily by passing motorists. Be sure to include contact information and a phone number. Make sure you have an answering machine and return interested buyer calls promptly.
- 4). Advertise in local newspapers and on line. Provide photos and an accurate description of land. Include information informing the public of the land description, water features and location. Note whether the land is forested, a pasture or a cultivated farm.
- 5). List the land with a local real estate broker if for sale-by-owner efforts are not productive. Choose a broker with a proven track record of sales of comparable properties.
