How to Clean a Dry-Clean-Only Cotton Twill Jacket
- 1). Wet a soft sponge with cold water and apply it to the stain. Twill is a sturdy, dense fabric, so press the wet sponge into the material several times to make sure the water soaks in.
- 2). Pour a little liquid laundry detergent into the bottle cap. Dip one of your fingers into the detergent, and spread the detergent on the stain. Do this several times until the stain is lightly covered with soap. Allow the soap to set for five to 10 minutes.
- 3). Dampen a soft sponge with cold water, and dab away the soap. Move your sponge with instead of against the weave of the fabric.
- 4). Allow the fabric to dry. If the stain does not come out, repeat this process or take the jacket to the dry cleaner's.
