How to Fix a Self-Closing Door
- 1). Close the door. Insert the tension rod that comes with the door hinge into the hole on the right-hand side of the adjustment slot.
- 2). Rotate the lever to the left and insert the tension pin in the hole to the right of the lever. Release the lever so the pin can meet the adjustment slot. Remove the lever and adjust the tension. Repeat the steps until the tension is correct.
- 3). Hit the tension pin with a hammer to make it flush with the hinge tube, once the tension is correct.
- 1). Close the door. Use the screwdriver to remove the screws from the hinge where the hinge meets the doorjamb.
- 2). Pull the door out from the doorjamb.
- 3). Remove the screws from the hinge on the door side and remove the hinge.
