How to Calculate Cashflow
- 1). Obtain the annual report for the company you would like to calculate cash flow for. You can request one through through the investor relations or download a copy from the company's website.
- 2). Determine the net income for the year. Net Income is found at the end of the income statement.
- 3). Determine depreciation and amortization. These are non-cash expenses and can be found on the income statement as well. You can also find information about depreciation and amortization in the notes to the financial statements.
- 4). Calculate cash flow. Add depreciation and amortization expense to net income for the cash flow of the company for that year. Future cash flows can be forecast in the same way.
