How to Measure Your Motorcycle for Saddlebags
- 1). Measure up 1 inch from the top of the exhaust on your motorcycle to the bottom of your seat pad. This is the approximate length for the saddlebag.
- 2). Factor in sagging. If you plan to carry very heavy items in your motorcycle saddlebag, add an extra inch or two to your measurement from Step 1.
- 3). Measure from the rear turn signal to the very back of the rider's saddle. This is the approximate maximum width your saddlebag can be.
- 4). Look for saddlebags that fit within the measurements you took and that are suitable for your particular motorcycle model. Purchasing a bag suitable for your model will ensure that it is safe to use on your motorcycle.
