How to Organically Remove Mold From Plants
- 1). Spray down the plants with your garden hose to remove loose dirt and mold on the leaves. After spraying, and if you have only a few plants with a mold problem, use a cloth to physically remove mold from the foliage.
- 2). Mix 2 tbsp. of baking soda and 1 tsp. of vegetable oil to 1 gallon of water in your garden sprayer to create the organic mold-removing spray recommended by The Garden Glove. Shake it to mix and spray on all affected plants.
- 3). Crush 1 garlic bulb and boil it in 1 qt. of water to make The Garden Glove's mold-fighting garlic spray. Let the mixture cool down, pour it into a sprayer and spray on your plants in the morning (this allows time for moisture to evaporate a bit before the sun gets too hot, which, combined with moisture on the leaves, could contribute to leaf scalding).
- 4). Remove and discard all moldy leaf debris around your plants. Keep the plants thinned out for better air flow -- this will help prevent a return of mold diseases.
- 5). Check the plants daily for further mold problems. You may need to re-spray every week until the mold is completely gone.
