How to Remove Calcium Deposits From a Toilet
- 1). Locate the pipe or hose that runs from your toilet tank to the shut-off valve installed in the wall. Turn the valve, slowly and carefully, in a clockwise direction until it will turn no more.
- 2). Flush the toilet two to three times to clear all of the water from the bowl.
- 3). Place a hand towel in the sink and pour enough white vinegar over the towel to saturate it.
- 4). Place the towel over the calcium deposits in the bowl. If the towel is saturated, it should cling to the side of the bowl. Leave the towel in place overnight and let the acetic acid in the vinegar dissolve the hard water stains or calcium deposits.
- 5). Remove the towel from the toilet. Scrub the toilet with a toilet brush to loosen any remaining residue.
- 6). Turn the shut-off valve slowly in a counter-clockwise direction to allow water to fill the tank. Flush the toilet to fill the bowl with water. Clean the toilet with hard water stain remover toilet cleaner and the toilet brush.
