Understanding the Importance of Giving Back As an Internet Network Marketer
" Without a shadow of doubt in my mind this is absolutely the most important lesson that a network marketer must learn in order to achieve true success.
Those who come into this industry who don't realize this very powerful statement will fail.
Period.
No ifs and ands about it.
The whole nucleus of MLM/Internet Network Marketing is built around this powerful principle.
If you are in network marketing then you know then you know who your upline leaders are.
The role of your upline is to teach those in their downline how to duplicate the system of your company.
They are not their just to collect a commission or residual income check.
If you are not willing to coach and mentor others then you need to leave this industry.
You have to be willing to sacrifice your time, get your hands dirty and be prepared to work with your sales force.
So many people come into this industry with the illusion that someone else is going to do all the work for them while they reap the benefits of their growing team.
Your downline grow's by following your example.
If you don't lead by example then your team will not grow and flourish in the way that it should.
Now while we as Network Marketers are sales people we have to realize that we are still in a much different industry versus someone let's say in retail.
You can sell as much as you want but you have to understand that you have to keep selling.
You have to learn how to generate volume.
If you truly desire success in this Network Marketing your downline/sales force has to be able to generate your downlines too.
I have passed on sales to members of my downline to help them advance but you cannot feed them forever.
Ultimately they have to 'feed' themselves.
If you are in a downline you have to examine your role on your team.
You are not to be a servant or a slave to your upline.
You also have to be willing to help them achieve their goals as well.
An example of this was my own person team leader.
She was 50 points away from reaching the next position in our company.
As members of her team we all came together on our own private conference call and said amongst each other "what can we do to get her get promoted?" We developed a systematic plan of attack and within a week we over-delivered much to her surprise.
If you are able to help achieve your upline's goal then you will set a precedence and when the time comes YOUR downline will help you reach your goal as well.
When you understand Zig Ziglar's principle and take it to heart and live by it you will create not only a powerful team but a powerful company/organization.
And this principle doesn't just apply to Network Marketing.
It applies to your daily interactions with people every single day.
If you learn to give to others who are deserving without attachment you will go far in this industry.
