Going on a plane journey with small children is probably the biggest turn off for many parents. The mere idea of going on family friendly holidays to far flung places by air sends shivers to many. Imagine this…having to sit in the economy class with your whole brood with aching knees, checking on children every minute and above all, making sure that your children are not creating ruckus for rest of the travellers. Well, all this is truly exasperating and would make any parent blanch.

All right, all this may actually not stand true for every plane journey but yes, it certainly makes the sleep- deprived parents reach their family friendly holidays' destination with hardly sanity on their minds. This compels many parents to not take children along on holidays. However, this factor should not deter you from enjoying your holidays with children. Below written are few tips that will help you survive the plane journey with children on family friendly holidays:

•Short travel is best recommended to have a hassle free plane journey. Children tend to get irritated if they are bound on a plane for hours.

•Pregnancy and tiny toddlers are two factors that can dampen your holiday spirit. Travelling during pregnancy entails high risk and toddlers involve high responsibility. Obviously, you would not want to spend all your holiday time vomiting due to morning sickness and changing nappies all day and night long. So, if you can, try and plan your family friendly holidays when you know you'll be well enough to travel.

•If you have small children, then it is better to train or prepare them for the air travel. This would help negate their hyperactivity during plane journey. Tell them about plane etiquettes and their need of safety.

•Being a parent, it is very important for you to remain active during your flight. So, drink lots of water before and during your flight. Remember. It takes all hands on deck to have a peaceful flight, thus, ensure that you and your partner have all the strength and stamina to handle your children on plane.

•Another handy tip is to pack your luggage with lots of puzzles and story books. This would keep your little ones entertained and busy. Also, chances are also more than likely that reading books on flight would send your children to sound sleep.

•Last but not the least; keep your patience level high during the flight. Keep your calm and do not let your face show the creases of stress and tiredness.
