    • 1). Apply plastic guides or felt pads to furniture that will be in the room. This will keep the furniture from scratching the acid-finished concrete.

    • 2). Place a hemp or rope-styled doormat on the outside and inside of the door. This will pick up almost all the dirt that people carry on their shoes and keep the floor cleaner for longer periods of time.

    • 3). Dust mop the acid finish every day. To dust mop correctly use one continuous movement without lifting the mop off the floor. When finished shake the mop outdoors and brush it over a garbage can. You can also vacuum the dust mop.

    • 4). Damp mop the floor using tap water and a neutral pH floor cleaner. Look on the floor cleaner label to make sure it is a neutral cleaner. This will help keep the floor shiny and won't damage the wax.

    • 5). Wax the floor approximately every three to six months. The floor installer should have left you with special wax for your floor. If he didn't, call the installer and ask what type of wax you should use.
