The Sport two-wheel drive engine has 16 valves with a displacement of 1,998 cc, bore and stroke of 3.39 by 3.39 inches and a compression ratio of 10.5 to 1. The Sport four-wheel drive and Limited engine also has 16 valves with a displacement of 2,360 cc, bore and stroke of 3.46 by 3.82 inches and a compression ratio of 10.5 to 1.

    Transmission and Fuel Economy

    • A five-speed manual transmission is standard on all 2010 Jeep Compass trims. The Sport two-wheel drive earns a gas mileage of 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The Sport four-wheel drive and Limited trims have a fuel efficiency of 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

    Interior Dimensions and Comfort

    • Five-passenger seating is standard on all 2010 Jeep Compass trims, with front headroom of 40.7 inches, front legroom of 40.6 inches, rear headroom of 39.9 inches and rear legroom of 39.4 inches. Standard comfort features on all trims include air-conditioning, tilt steering, radio, CD player and a second-row folding seat. The Limited trims also offer cruise control, leather steering wheel, leather seats, front heated seat, CD changer and a DVD player as standard comfort features.

    • The 2010 Jeep Compass is a four-door SUV in all trims with a wheelbase of 103.7 inches, a length of 173.4 inches, a width of 69.3 inches and a height of 65.2 inches. Maximum cargo capacity is 54 cubic feet with a luggage capacity of 22.7 cubic feet and a fuel capacity of 13.5 gallons. Standard features include alloy wheels, roof rack, rear window defogger, fog lights and a rear spoiler.
