Get Your Rear and Your Business in Gear!
Recently, I was in the aisles of one of those dreaded "big box" stores.
I don't go often but this trip was unavoidable.
While I was there, I noticed an older couple, nothing unusual about that, but they were holding hands and it was sweet so I was watching them.
Then I noticed his rear.
No, I was not "checking him out"! I was reading his life story in his body.
He matched the physique of a man who every day gets up and puts in a good days work for Company X, loves his family, and accepts what comes in life as either a blessing or a tolerance.
His life happens to him, not through him so his driving muscle - his gluteus maximus is simply not needed resulting in atrophy or "gone ass".
Women have the same syndrome but due to differences in where men and women typically store fat, the fanny takes the shape of the seat of a Lazy-boy chair.
Lovely...
The physical shape and form the body takes follows your energetic patterns.
Your "story" - mind + emotions - molds your body as surely as a child molds clay.
Your genes do play a role, but your habitual energy flow is just as and perhaps even more important to how your body "looks" than genetics.
If this sounds a bit implausible to you, consider that from your parents you receive both your genetic makeup and your "story".
Your subconscious beliefs and patterns come from your family of origin.
Is it any wonder you have the same body shape as mom or have the same parenting style as dad? You model your parents both genetically and energetically.
If you want to be a leader who others eagerly follow, you've got to "get your rear in gear".
You've got to use your personal "pedal on the right"! Your glutes are the muscles that allow you to powerfully move forward and upward.
In exercise physiology, power is defined as amount of work done per unit of time.
It is strength applied, stength in motion.
How powerful you are determines the effectiveness and the efficiency of your actions.
The more power you have access to, the more effortless your actions.
People with a lot of authentic personal power are leaders, and things get done effortlessly in their presence.
The activities that engage the gluteals are power activities including: squats, lunges, stair climbing, hiking, power walking, hill walking/running, plyometric jumps, etc.
Think about how you feel after a powerful exercise session - I bet you feel powerful! Now you can bring the power you generated physically and energetically into your day, into all the activities you have in front of you.
This is the magic of Your Body Your Guru.
It's not just about working out because you "should", and it's so much bigger (no pun intended!) than how you look in jeans! It's about setting your self up for success in spirit, in mind and in body.
It's about embodied success.
What do you need to do to kick it into high gear?
