How to Remove "Security System Has Detected Spyware Infection"
- 1). Navigate to http://safety.live.com using the Internet Explorer web browser. Microsoft's Safety Scanner needs to use Microsoft's Web browser for proper use. Accept the "ActiveX" control when prompted.
- 2). Click "Full Service Scan." The Full Service Scan will scan the entire hard drive, search not only for spyware and virus, but for any system files that may need replacing or repairing. Depending on the size of your hard drive, it may take a little while for the scan to complete. When the scan completes, a list of detected threats will be listed. A list of possible repairs will also be listed.
- 3). Click "Remove" to delete all the traces of spyware and viruses. After the threats have been deleted, you can exit the browser. Once the the threats have been dealt with, you should no longer receive the alerts notifying you of detected spyware. If you receive the notifications again in the future, preform the scan again.
