High Fuel Prices and Driving Your Motorhome on Vacation?

Have you considered taking to the highway this summer in your motorhome? Many do this each year, but this year is a little different with fuel prices so high.
Even diesel fuel is already $3.
00 per gallon and if you decide to drive across the country and back well it will take you 4000 miles times $3.
00 each way or $1200 times two or $2400.
00 and that is if fuel prices do not increase, as some are predicting mid summer prices at or above $4.
00 per gallon.
Ouch? So much for a motorhome vacation this year say many families.
If fuel prices do go to four dollars per gallon that would be $1600 each way or $3200 and at $4.
50 per gallon that equals over $1800 each way or $3600 for your vacation fuel and that is before you even buy food or pay for your other things.
This is one reason that many motorhome sales companies are already laying off people this summer and expecting motorhome sales to tank, literally by mid Hurricane Season 2006.
About one in ten middle class Americans own a motorhome and it is a huge industry indeed, but it is yet another in the manufacturing sector to get severely hurt this year due to the high diesel and gasoline prices.
These rates were considered at 10 miles per gallon which is the average motorhome fuel mileage and about what you should suspect if you are careful and set your cruise control at 55-60 miles per hour, so consider this in 2006.
