Chin Straps to Stop Snoring

You must be looking for a solution to snoring, either for yourself or someone you care about.
There are many options, and you've probably heard about or looked up several yourself.
I'm gonna talk specifically about what is known as the anti snoring chin strap, which is a mechanical solution.
Sure, there are nasal sprays, acupuncture, dental implants, even full-on surgery, but this mechanical solution is pretty non-invasive, relatively convenient, and inexpensive.
Just a word about snoring.
If it's mild, you've got nothing to worry about.
It's the spouse sleeping next to you or the sibling in the other bunk that suffers if they're light sleepers.
But some studies show that snoring does impact the snorer's quality of sleep.
That if you snore, some of you are either not sleeping as deeply as you could or having interrupted sleep, both of which cause all the classic symptoms of inadequate sleep like drowsiness, irritability, and slower reflexes, to varying degrees.
Also, if your snoring is moderate to severe, it may be a symptom of sleep apnea, something you'll want to see a doctor about.
Semi-serious or serious snoring is often not a stand-alone problem.
It's usually caused something else, such as excess weight or smoking.
Extra fat around the throat adds to airway constriction, which makes snoring more likely.
Smoking dries out, irritates, and weakens the throat muscles, which does the same.
Let's be clear, though, this "snoring chin strap" is a bandaid solution, it stops snoring for now, but it doesn't cure the underlying cause.
It is worth using though while you address what's causing it in the first place.
The anti snoring chin strap is a device you wear while sleeping.
It's composed of a chin cup that sits on your chin, attached to adjustable straps that go around the top of your head.
Since snoring usually occurs with the mouth open to various degrees, the apparatus holds your mouth closed, making sure you breathe through your nose.
Sleeping with your mouth closed also allows for more optimal airway structure, and that helps you breathe better.
You won't be able to use this if you have a stuffy nose, though, so leave it off if you have a cold or are experiencing allergies.
Make sure you find comfortable straps, something breathable, so that the device doesn't make you sweat.
I've seen straps made of latex and neoprene plastic.
This product comes in slightly different styles, and you may like one a lot more than another, so take a look around online to see photos of different styles.
You *can* buy them directly online, but you may also be able to find them at your local drug store or supermarket pharmacy section, where you could personally handle them to pick one that's comfortable.
Do not pay too much, as there are many online that sell for less than $20.
