Snoring usually happens when there is a partial blockage in your breathing pathway, and this blockage may be located anywhere from the tip of the nose to the vocal chords.

People who have a low, thick soft palate or enlarged tonsils will be much more prone to snoring than those who do not.
Alcohol acts as a form of relaxant; consumption of alcohol before bed is another major cause, especially if you drink too much alcohol right before going to bed.
