    • 1). Consider installing room-darkening blinds if your child's room is too light in the morning. Sunlight streaming in through the window may be waking her up. To see if this is the case, try taping the current blinds completely shut for a night to see if it solves the problem. If it does, invest in some room-darkening blinds.

    • 2). Use special super-absorbent diapers for the nighttime to see if your child is waking because of wetness and discomfort.

    • 3). Establish good sleep habits to make sure that your child can fall asleep on his own. To do this, make sure that your child does not need a bottle, rocking, or any other sleep props in order to fall asleep.

    • 4). Adjust your child's bedtime. Putting your child to sleep before her body is ready may make her sleep for a shorter time. Waiting until your child is overtired may do the same thing. Move your child's bedtime slightly earlier and slightly later and check for a difference in wake up time.
