Help Raise Spirits With Get Well Gift Baskets
Everything is fine now, and there are thankfully no lingering after effects from my initial injuries.
While I was laid up, I really appreciated every visit, card, bouquet of flowers, or balloon from friends and family.
It gets boring sitting in the hospital all day long without being able to do much except watch TV, so I was truly grateful when people took time out of their busy schedules to remember me.
Now I make sure to put in frequent visits or send get well gift baskets to any of my friends or relatives that are sick or injured.
Fortunately most of the people I know seem to be in pretty good health, so I haven't had to come up with too many get well gift baskets recently.
But it's nice to know they're there when needed.
Get well gift baskets are a popular item that can easily be found at many florist shops or online.
If I want to deliver the basket in person, I'll stop by a local store to pick one out myself.
If the recipient lives out of state or I'm not able to make a personal visit, then I'll order online and take advantage of the free delivery option that most places offer.
If I really want to add a personal touch, I sometimes even put together get well gift baskets on my own.
This is very easy to do, and always elicits a tremendous response from recipients.
All I have to do is buy a basket or some other festive container from a craft store, and then fill it with treats that I know the patient will love.
For instance, when my father was in the hospital for a few days following gall bladder surgery, I decided to bring him a couple of personalized get well gift baskets filled with golf magazines, crossword and sudoku puzzles, homemade oatmeal cookies (his favorite), and a couple of novels.
He later told me that the books, magazines, and cookies really helped him pass the time between visitors and that he might have gone crazy from boredom if he hadn't had those things.
It was obviously very rewarding for me to hear how much my gifts were appreciated because it made me feel as though the effort I put in was worthwhile.
Get well gift baskets are a wonderful way to show an indisposed loved one how much you care about him or her.
You don't have to spend a ton of money on the pre-made ones, either.
It's very easy to personalize get well gift baskets by shopping for the items separately, so keep that option in mind the next time you need to cheer someone up.
