Dslr cameras - 5 good filters to use with them
UV Filter - Also know as skylight filters, they are mainly used for protecting your lens from damage such as scratches and finger prints. I don't know how many times I've let my someone borrow a lens of mine and they return and it has these little finger prints all over them. I know it doesn't kill the lens but I hate cleaning the lens especially if I don't have to.
Polarizing Filter - This a great filter it's used to reduce glares from the sun and reflective elements. Most people use this filter when they are taking pictures of: Flowers, water and thing else with some soft of reflection to it. Nothing is worse that taking a family vacation or being at a really nice event and taking pictures (getting as many as you can) then when you sit to take a look at them you notice there is a lot of glare and what not...True if you're using a dslr camera you can check them as you are taking them but sometimes there just isn't time to do that. You have to shoot and move shoot and move
Neutral Density Filter – Great taking pictures of landscapes as well as sunsets. What the filter does is tone down the environments light source with its dark gradient that is built inside. This makes it so your picture isn't over exposed.
Soft Focus Filter – This is more of a special fx filter and comes in handy for a lot of photographers. It eliminates blemishes on the skin as well as sharpness leaving you with some of glamor shot or dream like affect.
Star Filters - Now to be honest I haven't used one of these filters for my own photography but I've known people to use them.. they can also give you that glamor affect or sort of glittery look. I personally don't have a need for one but they look pretty nice from what I've seen
What I love about filters is they are very affordable and easy to carry along with you on a photo shoot or family vacation and last they are extremely easy to use... They just snap on!
