How to Moth-Proof Wool Rugs in Storage

    • 1). Vacuum both the front and back of the wool rug before putting it in storage. This will remove any present moth larvae.

    • 2). Wrap the wool rug in a large, sealable plastic bag and seal it closed. Place the bag with the rug inside a plastic storage bin that comes with an airtight lid.

    • 3). Wrap moth repellent crystals in paper and lay them throughout the storage bin. Tuck two or three underneath the rug, and place the same amount on top of the rug. Do not use moth balls because the rug may absorb the smell.

    • 4). Put the airtight lid on the plastic container. Store the container in a clean, dust-free area.
