Curtain Poles: Complimenting your Curtains
Curtain poles are no more just a rod that is used to support your curtains. In fact they are an equally important part of the room's entire look, and complement your curtains to enhance their effect. Inappropriate curtain poles can destroy the entire look of the curtains and even the look of your otherwise carefully furnished room.
Just like fabric curtains, curtain poles come in a variety of materials, like wood, brass, wrought iron, metal, aluminium and even ivory. They are a separate accessory of their own, but they need to gel well with your curtains, the furnishings and even the wall paint. Curtain poles come in various varieties too, like the adjustable variety.
It is important to know that mostly curtain poles are made up of three parts; the pole, the finials and the bracket. The pole is used to mount the curtains, the finials cap up the end of the poles and finally the brackets are used to mount curtain poles on to the wall. Adjustable curtain poles have a mechanism in which one part of the rod slides into the other, thereby enabling the user to either lengthen or shorten the length of the rod.
Curtain poles not only help in holding up curtains, but also help in putting up drapes, which are basically used to cover an ugly patch on the wall or even to control noise. These rods not only complement your curtains, but also act as a decorative piece, thereby enhancing the look of the room.
