Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder - OCD and Depression Combined

103 188
Do you have OCD? Are you depressed? If you can answer yes to both questions, you are certainly not alone as people that have OCD usually become depressed about the OCD and how it makes them feel.
What you have to realize is that you are causing your own OCD by giving into rituals.
You have to stop doing rituals which will help you to become stronger against OCD.
If you get stronger against OCD to the point where you don't fear as much and are not doing any or as much rituals anymore, then your depression should also diminish because the source which was the grief over OCD is diminished.
One strategy that you can put into use right now so that you can help yourself get rid of both simultaneously is to refuse to do rituals and to find a passion.
These two things are some of the most powerful that can be done in regards to getting over both.
What you really need to do is not look for a support group that has been there before, but instead, find people that don't have either OCD or depression and model them.
What I mean by that is that you copy how they act and what they do and by doing this, you will learn anti-OCD and anti-depressive behavior.
It's almost like monkey see monkey do, although I am not implying that you are a monkey! Take action: Don't waste time in groups with other people that have OCD, rather have one or two people that you can talk to about it and surround yourself with plenty of people that don't have OCD and are not depressed.
You are the equivalent of the five people you hang out with the most, if you hang out with people with OCD and depression, you will be or have both.
If you hang out with people who have neither, then eventually so will you.
